Turtle Brownies

INGREDIENTS

4 squares unsweetened chocolate

¼ cup butter

2 cups sugar

3 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

1 cup chocolate chips

1 ½ cups chopped walnuts

⅓ cup evaporated milk


INSTRUCTIONS 

In a medium saucepan, add chocolate squares and butter and stir over medium-low heat until melted. Remove from heat; stir in sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, and blend well. Spoon ½ the batter into a greased 13”x9” pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and 1 cup chopped walnuts. 


In another saucepan, combine caramels and evaporated milk over medium heat, stirring well until smooth. Gently spread over chocolate chips and nuts. Carefully top with remaining batter, and sprinkle with remaining ½ cup walnuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Makes 12 brownies.
