A Father's Day Menu!

Recipes That Sizzle for Dad's Day!

Give your dad the gift he deserves by grilling him up some of the tastiest meals. Whether he prefers burgers and dogs or a ribeye steak, these go-to recipes and grilling tips will be a hit when you're cooking for Dad next weekend!

Burgers are an American summertime grilling favorite! So, how do you make the perfect burger?

  • Avoid overworking meat to prevent a dry, dense burger
  • If adding seasonings or ingredients, sprinkle evenly over the ground beef, and fold in gently
  • Use your thumb or back of a spoon to make a “dimple”, or large indentation in the center of patty to prevent it from puffing up like a ball
  • Cook over high heat, non-dimpled side first. Flip when outer crust forms, and cook until desired degree of doneness. *USDA recommends cooking to a safe internal temperature of 160℉.
  • Avoid the urge to speed up the cooking process by pressing down on the burger as you don’t want that juicy goodness to escape
  • Enjoy with your favorite toppings like this delicious Avocado Bacon Burger

If hot dogs are one of your go-to's, switch things up with bratwurst. This German sausage is delicious grilled, great with beer, and perfect for summer fun! Kick it up a notch by combining  with the great flavors of the popular Reuben by melting a slice of swiss cheese over the brat for ooey-gooey goodness and serve in a toasted bun topped with Thousand Island dressing, sauerkraut, and chopped red onion.

Tender cuts like sirloin, tenderloin or rib steaks are great for grilling, require no special steps, and although they can be served with sauces, they are delicious as is, like this grilled ribeye steak. Its simplicity is the perfect complement to the tart, sweet and nutty flavors of the salad.

Less tender cuts of beef such as flank steak and top round for London Broil become more tender when marinated, thinly sliced against the grain, and grilled quickly. Unlike ground beef, poultry, pork and fish, which all have USDA recommended safe internal cooking temperatures, beef can be cooked to desired doneness:

  • Medium-rare 150℉
  • Medium 160℉
  • Well-done 165℉

Ribs, another popular barbecue food, can be a hit or miss if not cooked properly. Low, slow, and grilling over indirect heat is the secret to mastering melt in your mouth ribs. Don’t be tempted to speed the process up or you’ll end up with overcooked, tough ribs instead of tender meat that falls off the bone. This Grilled St. Louis Style Pork Ribs video shows how truly easy it is!
