7 Hearty Soups for Cold Winter Days

There’s nothing more comforting on a cold winter day than a pot of soup simmering on the stove. And, a bowl of soup makes a complete meal when served with crusty bread along with a salad. Another plus is that soups are an easy and delicious way to get more vegetables in your family’s diet, which is good for everyone's health! Fresh vegetables such as celery, onion, carrots, and garlic (sometimes referred to as aromatics in recipes) help deepen the flavor of the soup. Herbs like bay leaf, parsley, thyme and basil add depth.
